Peachtree City Funds New Signage at NeSmith Preserve

Thanks to a community grant from the Rotary Club of Peachtree City and Georgia Department of Natural Resources - Georgia DNR’s Wildlife Viewing Grants Program, Southern Conservation Trust was able to install a new educational sign at NeSmith Preserve and redesign the end of the boardwalk to better accommodate the sign and make the space more accessible and useful for all visitors. “NeSmith Preserve: A 100 Years in the Making” shares how this landscape transformed from Piedmont bottomland forest to thriving welland shaped by beavers over decades.

Southern Conservation Trust is a public charity that elevates nature through exceptional stewardship through over 55,000 acres of conserved land and public lands throughout the Southeast, including five public nature areas in Fayetteville County, Georgia, and the Fayette Environmental Education Center. Not only working to protect our lands, they also want to promote the education and access to enjoy our natural preserves.
